Washington Nationals Betting Preview

The Nationals took on the Chicago Cubs over the weekend and didn’t do very well. Washington lost all three games 7-6, 5-3 and 14-1. In the Sunday finale blowout, the Nats were out-hit 18-5, committed three errors and gave up seven runs in the ninth inning alone.

On Tuesday the Nationals will send out Patrick Corbin in the start. This year Corbin is 4-12 with a 5.50 ERA in 27 starts. Corbin is 101-130 with a 4.49 ERA in 337 games (319 starts).

Miami Marlins Betting Preview

Over on the Marlins’ side, they played the San Francisco Giants in their last set. Miami lost 3-1 Friday then came back with 4-3 and 7-5 wins to take a series victory. In Sunday’s win, the Marlins got three hits, two runs and an RBI from catcher Nick Fortes.

It’ll be Max Meyer in the starting role for the Marlins on Tuesday. So far Meyer is 3-4 with a 5.44 ERA in 10 starts. Over 12 career starts Meyer is 3-5 with a 5.65 ERA.

Washington Nationals vs Miami Marlins Prediction

I’ll go Nationals here. Washington should get a nice start out of Corbin. In his last three starts Corbin is 2-0 with three earned in 16.1 combined innings. As for Meyer, he’s been pretty shaky over his last three with 10 earned runs combined over 15.0 innings for an 0-2 record.

Washington didn’t play well at all versus the Cubs in their last series, however. The Nats gave up 26 runs across three games and scored just four themselves in the final two outings. Corbin should be able to do his part; it’ll be up to the bats and the pen after that.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Washington Nationals +102
