San Jose State Offense Impressed

San Jose State faced off against Sacramento State in the first game and they scored 42 points on the way to the victory. At the end of the first quarter they were down 14-7 but they fought back with the offense. In the fourth quarter they pulled away with 21 points scored. Emmett Brown had a strong game completing 20 of his 34 passes for 298 yards, three toucdhowns, and one interception.

Floyd Chalk IV finished with 18 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Nick Nash also caught 10 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns. The defense was decent but got out to a slow start, and that can’t happen here. They also allowed too many yards on the ground and that will need to be improved upon quickly.

Air Force Didn’t Dominate Game 1

Air Force in the first game of the year faced off against Merrimack and it wasn’t exactly a dominant win but they were able to secure the 21-6 victory. They scored a touchdown in three of the four quarters and the only points they gave up was in the 4th quarter. Air Force runs the option but they do throw the ball more a little more than usual.

Josh Busha completed 6 of his 14 passes for 71 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Owen Allen was the top rusher, finishing with 16 carries for 63 yards. There were six different pass catchers that finished with one catch. The defense did pretty well against the pass, but they did struggle a bit against a run, and they need to cleaned that up going forward.

San Jose State vs Air Force Prediction

San Jose State and Air Force are going to be involved in a defensive battle here. Air Force’s defense is going to really step up here, and they are going to make life tough on San Jose State. Air Force’s offense is going play thier typical grind it out type of style, and that will be the difference here. This game is going to be lower scoring and it will end up staying well under the total. Back the under to cash here.
