Is there anything better on the 4th of July then to sit down, grab a drink and some food and watching Nathan’s hot dog eating contest. Usually, the contest takes place at Coney Island with thousands of fans, but this year because of COVID-19 there will no fans. Even though the circumstances are different many different prop bets that can be bet on.

Watching the event is fun, but making money on the event is even better, so let’s look at some bets that can make you money.

Joey Chestnut wins Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest: -1600

There really isn’t any value with this bet, but putting your money on the field is just a waste of money. Chestnut has won 12 hot dog eating titles. Last year Chestnut ate 71 hot dogs, which was enough to win the title by 21 hot dogs. Darron Breeden came in second place with 50 hot dogs.

Miki Sudo wins Women’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest:-850

This is another bet that doesn’t have a lot of value, but there is no point of betting the field. Miki Sudo is the most impressive female eating in the world and she won last year’s contest by five hot dogs.

Over 73.5 Hot Dogs Eaten by the Winner: -130

Joey Chestnut is winning this event, and he is going to eat at least 75 hot dogs. Chestnut has already said that being somewhere air-conditioned should help his eating, which means he should be able to eat a few more hot dogs. In 2018, Chestnut ate 74 hot dogs, so it’s not like this isn’t something he has done before. These are perfect conditions and Chestnut is going to take advantage.

Michelle Lesco +6.5 hot dogs against Miki Sudo: +140

There is no doubt that Miki Sudo is going to win the women’s contest, but she only knocked off Michelle Lesco by 5.5 hot dogs last season. Look for Lesco to lose by five hot dogs or less, which makes the +140 a great value on this bet.

Joey Chestnut over 45.5 Hot Dogs at the halfway mark: -170

Putting all your eggs in one basket in betting can be a bit dangerous, but let’s go all-in on Joey Chestnut. The conditions are right for an elite showing by Joey Chestnut, and he is going to get off to a blazing start. As time goes on, usually the slow down happens, and he knows to break the record he needs to be at an elite pace.
