Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview
The Jaguars had their ups and downs last season but started off very well. Jacksonville went 8-3 initially, but would only win one more game down the stretch and settled for a 9-8 run. That would put the Jaguars in second place among the AFC South and out of playoff contention.
In the preseason, the Jaguars looked pretty goo. Jacksonville was able to run the table and win all of their games, starting with a 26-13 result over the Kansas City Chiefs. Next came a 20-7 win versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a 31-0 blowout win versus the Falcons.
Miami Dolphins Betting Preview
Over on the Dolphins’ side, they were able to improve on their 9-8 record from 2022 with an 11-6 run last year. Miami couldn’t quite catch Buffalo for the AFC East title, but still earned a Wild Card berth. The Dolphins’ playoff run was cut short with an opening-round loss to the Chiefs 26-7, though.
Miami was able to win their first couple of preseason games, kicking things off with a 20-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The Dolphins would then beat the Commanders 13-6, but lost their final exhibition matchup on August 23 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-14.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Miami Dolphins Prediction
I’m going to lean toward the Dolphins. This should be a pretty fun matchup overall, though. Miami had to make some pretty significant roster changes in the offseason, but did manage to keep many of their impact players while retooling in free agency. Major names like Christian Wilkins and Xavien Howard are gone, but the team still boasts major playmakers including Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.
As for Jacksonville, their sights are firmly set on a playoff berth. It’s going to be a big season for QB Trevor Lawrence as he attempts to guide his team through a difficult AFC gauntlet. The Jaguars are something of an afterthought this year behind the resurgent Houston Texans, and that could ultimately help their playoff prospects. As for this Week 1 game, I don’t think the Jags will quite cover but it’ll be a good one to watch.
