Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

Seattle opened the year at 3-2, losing to the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers around wins versus the Steelers, Saints and Cardinals. The Seahawks would win their next four outings versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals. In the 44-22 win over Arizona, Seattle scored 38 points in the first half alone. The Seahawks finished with 372 yards, 6.3 yards per play, 22 first downs and 6-of-10 on third-down conversion attempts but did have three turnovers in the victory effort.

In Sunday’s game versus the Rams, the Seahawks were in trouble after the first quarter, trailing 14-3. Seattle got back in the game from there and scored in every quarter but still lost a tough one 21-19. Sam Darnold had a bad day on 29-of-44 passing for 279 yards and four interceptions. Kenneth Walker had 67 yards and a score off 16 carries to lead the Seattle rush, and Jaxson Smith-Njigba caught nine balls for 105 yards in the losing effort.

Tennessee Titans Betting Preview

Over on the Titans’ side, they lost to the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans before getting a win over the Arizona Cardinals. Tennessee would lose to the Raiders, Patriots, Colts and Chargers in the next four matchups, though. In the 27-20 loss to the Chargers, the Titans gave up 13 points in the second quarter alone. Tennessee would gain just 206 yards total with 4.7 yards per play, 10 first downs and a rough 1-of-9 success rate on third-down tries.

Matched up against the Texans last weekend, Tennessee had a 3-0 lead at the break. The Titans were outscored 16-10 from there however, and lost a tough one at home 16-13. QB Cameron Ward was 24-of-37 for 194 yards and a score, while leading the rush on 33 yards from three carries. Chigoziem Okonkwo was tops in receiving with 56 yards from his three catches in the Titans’ loss.

Seahawks vs Titans Prediction

I might take a stab on the Titans, but realistically I’m staying away from this one. It’s hard to trust Tennessee right now, even though they gave Houston a good game over the weekend. In that three-point loss the Titans posted just 229 total yards, 58 rush yards, 4.0 yards per play, 14 first downs and 6-of-15 on third-down tries. The defense was pretty good on 75 rush yards and 4-of-13 on third downs allowed but did get burned on a few passes here and there. Tennessee’s problem is that they just can’t score; the team has been at 22 or fewer points in every game so far this year.

As for Seattle, their four interceptions snuffed what could have been a comeback road win versus the Rams on Sunday. The defense did well on 249 yards, 12 first downs and 2-of-11 on third-down tries allowed, and the offense really wasn’t bad outside of the turnovers. Seattle had scored 27 or more points in three straight outings coming into that defeat, winning all three (and four straight overall). This is a good opportunity for the Seahawks to get back on track, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them control the flow.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Tennessee Titans +13.5
