Matchup History

The Minnesota Lynx have won all three meetings this season after an 86-80 win in the meeting between these two teams just three days ago.

Minnesota Lynx Recap

The Minnesota Lynx come into this game looking to add on to their win over the Liberty last time out to improve to 28-5 this season. After this game, the Lynx will head on the road again for a game against the Atlanta Dream.

Lynx Win 6 In A Row

Napheesa Collier leads the Lynx in scoring with 23.5 PPG along with 7.5 RPG and 3.5 APG while Courtney Williams has added 13.9 PPG with 5 RPG and a team-high 6.4 APG to lead the Lynx in the assist department. Kayla McBride’s logged 14.8 PPG and 3.4 APG to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Minnesota up to this point in the season. Alanna Smith’s added 9.4 PPG with 5.3 RPG and 2.8 APG and Natisha Hiedeman has 7.7 PPG with 2.9 APG so far this season. As a team, Minnesota is averaging 87.3 PPG on 46.9% shooting from the field, 36.8% from three and 77.9% from the foul line this season.

Liberty Drop Back-To-Back Games

Sabrina Ionescu leads the Liberty in scoring with 19.6 PPG with 5.5 APG and 4.9 RPG while Breanna Stewart has 18.3 PPG with 6.5 RPG and 3.9 APG. Jonquel Jones has 14 PPG with a team-high 8.7 RPG to lead the Liberty in rebounding and Natasha Cloud has 10 PPG with 3.7 RPG and a team-high 5.7 APG to lead the Liberty in assists. Emma Meesseman also has 12.3 PPG with 4.5 RPG and 4 APG in 4 games so far to cap off the scoring in double figures for the Liberty so far this season. Kennedy Burke has also chipped in 8.4 PPG and 2.3 RPG while Leonie Fiebich has 8.9 PPG with 3.8 RPG as well this season. As a team, New York is averaging 86.4 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field, 35.2% from three and 84.2% from the foul line this season.

Minnesota Lynx vs. New York Liberty Prediction

I’m backing the Lynx in this one. The Liberty just don’t look like a team that can get over the hump against the Lynx and the Lynx look like a team that’s held a grudge from losing the finals to the Liberty last season. My concern for Minnesota was that when Napheesa Collier went down, that this team wouldn’t be able to carry that success over. Instead, the Lynx have taken the next woman up mentality, and I think they keep it rolling here with a win and cover on the road but I’ll take the free bucket to be safe.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: Minnesota +3
